downlook

I needed a rest and hadn't seen any flat ground to sit on in a full hour. Just as I was about to take a rest in the middle of the trail, a marked "downlook" appeared. I always thought they were "overlooks," but apparently this one has some history--the guidebook, copyright 1991, makes a point of calling it a "downlook," too. For sure it was a good place for a snack, and the first of many vistas.
